Hello there! Today is Feature Friday and I am delighted to share the work of Botto, a print and textile design studio based in Bombay, India. Botto develops a wide range of original prints and patterns, but they also enjoy working in collaboration with “fellow designers and design firms on projects ranging from textile fairs, product development, hotel interiors and more.” I was really drawn to their block printed work, which you can see above. For this project traditional patterns and prints from block printing regions of Rajasthan, India, were studied and researched. Botto then introduced printers to a modern genre of prints, “radical in nature but firmly rooted in the folklore and tradition of its technique.” I think the results are simply wonderful. To learn more about Botto please visit their website.
Have a wonderful weekend!
