It has been way too long since we developed a found pattern post and it feels great to share a little inspiration for your next print or collection. I always love what Sarah Burton develops for the Alexander McQueen brand and was particularly interested by this armored lace trend for Fall ’13. The look exudes a delicate strength that reminds me of this rubber textile collection from designer Andreea Mandrescu. So how can we, the printed designers of the world incorporate this trend? Think masses of thin lines, transparencies and delicate line work with illuminating colors and shading. Have fun and feel free to share your armored lace creation on the facebook page!

At Pattern Observer we strive to help you grow your textile design business through our informative articles, interviews, tutorials, workshops and our private design community, The Textile Design Lab.
