Christian Dior Resort ’12

I love the fun colors and details in these pieces from Dior’s Resort Collection. Overall the collection was not my favorite, but these pieces really caught my eye. They are light and airy, with a touch of 1970′s glamour. Perfect for a winter escape.

There are some exciting posts this week including the announcement of the Carbonmade Portfolio Contest winner and a Couture Collection Roundup so stay tuned!!!! Have a great week!!

Fournier

I love *sweet* childrenswear. There is nothing more adorable than a simple little frock with crochet details, or beautiful fabric covered buttons. So, I was delighted to find this perfectly sweet, and eco-friendly driven brand, Fournier.

Anabel Fournier founded the brand in 2004 while living in Bolivia. She was there researching rural women’s survival strategies in the face of poverty and her goal was to help the community make lasting improvements to their standard of living. After discovering the high level of craftsmanship, she stayed for six years training the artisans in knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing. Fournier recently launched a beautiful online shop and they actually have a giveaway happening right now at their blog, check it out!

Have a great weekend!

Blockprinted lovelies from Jezze Prints

I love the blockprinted buttons and tape seen over at Jezze Prints‘ Etsy shop. Her color usage is spot on and who can resist hand-printed ribbons?

jason wu fall 2011

Lace (placed and all-over), tiny polka dots, SIMPLE B&W prints, and sequins are a lovely combination. I love the wool jacket with the lace placed on the sleeves. Mr. Wu also designed a sweatshirt with a similar look that is really cool—-there are just too many pictures to post them all!

Numero #118

Thanks to Fashion Gone Rogue for posting this amazing story from the November issue of Numéro. The shoot was styled by Charles Varenne and photographed by Sebastian Kim. I really like how they paired the fair isle, which has been around for several seasons, with florals and furs which are a nod towards more recent/future trends.

DISCOVERY

I discovered this stunner of a dress at SwaneeGRACE‘s etsy shop. I love the motifs and colors, but what struck me was the hem of the dress. The print is placed in such a way that it almost looks ombred or dip-dyed. Love!

IT’S NICE TO MEET YOU ALICE

*images via Alice by Temperley

I am not sure if I have been under a rock for the last year or so, but somehow I missed this AWESOME brand, Alice by Temperley. They do a fabulous job of incorporating fun trends, such as ethnic inspired prints and the military look, in a wearable manner. Be sure to check out their website, they post some of their inspiration boards and also have an interesting blog. Love it!

These beautiful images are all part of Anthropologie’s November catalog. The entire catalog is such a treat; from the prints and colors used, to the merchandising, photography, and layout. I love the red Jacquard Missive Skirt and the Acrobatics Necklace, designed by Lauren Manoogian, is AMAZING! It is made out paper clips covered in some sort of brightly colored material. Not only would it be wonderful to wear, but it is great inspiration for a print, wouldn’t you say? You can view the entire catalog here.
