Take the Guesswork Out of

Your Design Process

Learn how to turn your sketches into marketable surface pattern

design collections with the Sellable Sketch process

Discover (or rediscover) your artistic style

Designing without the direction of a client, art director or agent is liberating, but it can also lead to feeling overwhelmed and unproductive. Imagine feeling confident in who you are as an artist and what you should be creating.

Become your best Art Director

We are often our best guide, teacher, and art director. Accepting this on the surface level is easy; however, tapping into this ability is not. Imagine being able to bring a sense of focus to your artistic process by knowing what to design each season and where your work fits in within this vast industry.

What if you were able to create collections that exemplify your style and resonate with buyers?

October 14, 2019

When I left my corporate job to launch a freelance business I was thrilled. I set my office up, registered my business, and then sat down to design. Whoa! I felt absolutely lost! For years I had been told what to design and I knew the style of prints I was expected to create, but when left on my own I was overwhelmed and unproductive. If my business was going to survive, I knew I needed a change. This is when I developed a system to take the guesswork out of what to design each season.

In the Sellable Sketch, I’m sharing the system I used to bring momentum to my business and work myself out of this design rut. This process brings clarity to the collection development process and designers leave feeling focused, confident, and motivated to get their work out into the marketplace.

I began sharing this system in 2012. Since then, hundreds of designers have been helped. They gained focus, confidence, and motivation to get their work out into the marketplace.

The course is now updated with fresh videos, exercises, and updated perspectives. Something new for everyone—including those who have taken the course previously. Now, I am thrilled to share it with the Textile Design Lab community.
