These beautiful patterns come to us from Chiara Lanzillotta and Stefano Roiz, who have teamed up for the Pattern Nostrum project. Pattern Nostrum is a collection of 36 harmonious patterns, which “though distinctive in themselves, maintain the shapes and colours of the pictorial matrix from which they derive and can be used for a host of different interpretations and applications within the scope of Industrial Design, Architecture, Surface Design, Editorial Design, Fashion and Textile Design.” Each pattern within the collection starts with an original canvas painting and is then digitally manipulated and repeated into the layouts which you can see above. These four were among my favorites, but you can see the entire collection here.

I would like to wish all of you in the United States and Canada an enjoyable and relaxing Labor Day!
