You may remember today’s designer from our feature last summer. Well Gabriela Larios is back with some beautiful new patterned products including teacups, silk scarves and adorable zipped pouches. Enjoy!
“Alongside the commissioned work I am currently creating for international clients and licensing fabric and home ware companies, I have recently launched two new Gabriela Larios textile pieces ‘My Favourite said the Ant Eater’, part of my originally hand painted silk scarves collection and my new ‘Colourful Deep Sea Creatures’ zipped pouches. Both textile pieces celebrate my love of playful and whimsical designs inspired by story tales and memories of my childhood in El Salvador. I am pleased to say that a few of these pieces have recently been awarded two honorable mentions by 3×3 Magazine Illustration Awards and were also part of the selection of patterns published in the special issue of Uppercase Magazine dedicated to surface pattern design.
I am now planning and preparing for upcoming design fairs and exhibitions in London at the end of the year and the launch of new wall art products for children’s rooms on my shop Gabote, some of them selected to be showcased and published in London in 2015 at the Showcase100 exhibition organised by the Little Chimp Society.”
