Jenny Lumelsky and her partner and manager Tomer Ronen started their boutique fashion brand Touchka out of a “desire to combine illustration and fashion.”

The launch collection includes five designs created by Jenny, which are offered in three sizes. Jenny writes, “Chapter 1 is an Art to Wear collection. Each scarf is illustrated and inspired by a favorite quote from a story or fairytale: Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Little Prince, The Jungle Book and The Happy Prince.

I come from an illustration background (B.des in Visual Communication at the “Bezalel” college) but in the past few years I fell in love with textile design, patterns and repeats. This change is exciting for me, seeing how illustration can come out of the paper and become usable and wearable.

As for the scarves, I usually begin with picking a quote that inspires me, and start sketching.

All the designs are painted by hand, using watercolor and gouache, then I scan the elements and continue working in Photoshop, refining and making the final composition.

Finally, the scarves are digitally printed in Italy, on a fine lightweight fabric (Modal & silk). Touchka’s scarves are made with a special touch for women who appreciate nostalgia and elegance.”
