The motto that greets you on the homepage of Ryan Swanson’s website is, “I Work As A Designer But I’m Secretly An Artist.” Ryan is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and we love his fresh mixed media style that seamlessly blends the disciplines of art and design.

“Pattern is always part of my practice as an artist and web designer. I see patterns everywhere: in sidewalk stains, old wallpaper, magazines, and online, in stock photography. I bring these patterns into my work. I draw, I cut, I click, I glue. Integrated in my patterns are body shapes and physiques, styled among repeating geometry. My patterns have been used on the runway by fashion designer Noah Hu and as surface design in home décor.”
