When I think of the exquisite work of Maria Montiel, I am instantly delighted. I love her layered patterns and gorgeous painterly techniques. This process leads to captivating artwork. With a degree in graphic design and a master’s degree in surface design, Maria has gained loads of skills and experiences. However, it was through being featured in a blog many years ago, Maria gained a large following. The blog highlighted her producing and selling her own products. Today, she has carried that over into working on watercolors as original pieces of art for sale, as well as converting them into ready to sell prints. These pieces are available through the private space on her website.
In addition to selling her own prints and artwork, Maria also creates custom work for clients. Much of her art is influenced by her native country of Venezuela. Currently, Maria lives in Barcelona, Spain but she continues to be inspired by her childhood and heritage. It lends to a bold, colorful, and personal style.
Maria has definitely done so much with her career already. But she is not done! She would also like to see her designs on a bedding collection and has already started to create ideas to do this. You can find some options in her shop on her website, where she has partnered with Deny designs. One other aspiration is to have her own solo show where she can exhibit her work for the world to see.
You will enjoy looking through Maria’s most recent work (much of which is available for sale too). Her work with original watercolors and transforming them into seamless repeat prints, digital images, and vintage prints is particularly fabulous.
