Designer Feature: Stacie Green

Stacie Green of Whimsical Mythical is an author, illustrator, and surface pattern designer based in Cary, North Carolina. Stacie enjoys exploring nature with her three kids and finds inspiration for writing and drawing on these adventures. Her artwork and stories live at the intersection of the wild and the beautiful, where monsters and botanicals coexist. She invites viewers to explore a world where the untamed and cultivated meet. Her creative world is a magical place with room for mystery, imperfection, and growth.

She has published three children’s books, with a brand new release last week titled Monsters and Magic in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the themes in her stories for books and patterns are: growing through facing your fears, finding beauty in chaos, and making friends with the unseen. Her favorite author/illustrators are Maurice Sendak, Margaret Bloy Graham, and Arnold Loebal for their lovable characters and stories.

In addition to illustrating and writing children’s books, Stacie loves creating new repeating patterns for her successful Spoonflower store. Her UFO cow pattern has been a best seller and is regularly featured on Spoonflower’s trend reports. She has over 1,300 patterns available to purchase for fabric, wallpaper, and products on Spoonflower. Check out her store here!
