What is the difference between the Textile Design Lab and Pattern Observer?

The Textile Design Lab is our members-only e-learning community which allows you to work through textile design courses at your own pace. Pattern Observer is our free blog which hosts advanced design workshops with Michelle.

Which courses are included in the Textile Design Lab?

We currently have the following courses included in Textile Design Lab membership: The Sellable Sketch, The Ultimate Guide to Repeats (UGTR), The Moneymaker Bootcamp, The Print Show Guide, How to Sell Your Artwork, Blogging for the Pattern Industry and Five Days to a Better Business. You can read more about the courses included in our membership community here.

How long is a subscription to the Textile Design Lab? How much does it cost?

We have four options for membership: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and one year.

For a 1 month (month-to-month) subscription, membership is $42/month.
For 3 months, membership is $117 (breaks down to $39/mo)
For 6 months, membership is $231 (breaks down to $38.50/mo)
For a one year subscription (12 months), membership is $396 (breaks down to $33/mo)

I am new to Pattern Observer. Which course should I take first?

We recommend starting with the Textile Design Lab. You’ll join like-minded artists and designers in courses on everything from technical skills like patterns and repeats to the business know-how you need to market and sell your work. The experience will give you a solid foundation for our more advanced workshops, such as Photoshop for Designers or Designing for Women’s Activewear.

How do I get featured on Pattern Observer?

To be considered for a feature, please submit 7-10 jpgs of your work for review. Here at Pattern Observer we strive to publish original content and therefore try to only post work which has not been covered by other major surface design blogs, so we appreciate you keeping that in mind when selecting images for your submission. Submissions can be sent here.

Do you accept guest posts on Pattern Observer? What are your requirements?

We are no longer accepting guest posts.

I tried to sign up for your newsletter/free training/portfolio guide but I haven’t received an email from you to get started.

Please check your spam folder and if you have still not received an email from us, contact us at info@patternobserver.com for further assistance.
