A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY…

The Victoria & Albert museum is one of my favorite museums, so I was delighted to recently discover that they have an extensive online image library. One of my recent finds is this pattern book from 1763. The book was sent to “Portugal and Spain, where customers could choose from the numbered samples and have their orders prepared back in Norwich. The book shows the range of patterns and colors thought likely to appeal to the Spanish and Portuguese market in 1763.”

The colors and patterns seem so “of the moment” and remind me of the Pendleton designs that I wrote about earlier in the week. Explore more of their collection here.
