Cata Saldarriaga of Cata Print is a graphic designer by profession and an artist at heart. From a young age, she always had a passion for fabrics and how they enhance people’s beauty through prints full of color, harmony, and stories that emotionally connect them with brands.
As a curious, enthusiastic, and proactive person, she loves exploring and mixing analog and digital illustration techniques, which has allowed her to create versatile graphic styles. Since graduating from university, she has always sought job opportunities connected to her purpose: creating contemporary versatile prints filled with vibrant stories and visually impactful beauty that align with the essence of the brands she designs for. Usually these prints are strongly related to the sea. In 2017, she had the opportunity to join the design team at one of the largest textile companies in Colombia, where she learned more ways to enhance the beauty of her creations. “Isla Pájaros” is one of the latest designs, created with love for Aguamaría Colombia, a Colombian swimwear brand inspired by the charm of the Caribbean region of Columbia.
Another project she loves passionately is “Sea Life”, one of the most exciting designs to develop, as it was a co-creation with Benieller, a beachwear brand created by Javier Ayala, one of her former colleagues who decided to follow his passion and now designs men’s swim trunks.
Cata is currently an independent designer, passionate about what she does, and is dedicated to creating beautiful prints for beachwear and kidswear brands. She loves her country, Colombia, because it is an incredible source of inspiration, rich in diversity; furthermore, she is also ready to explore other wonderful places around the world.
