Nisha Abey is a positive, upbeat, and passionate textile designer and artist based in Brisbane, Australia. With over 15 years of experience working in the fashion, homewares, and textile industries, she understands how important collaboration is in the design world. She spends her days dreaming up original surface patterns through her design practice Abey Print Studio.
Every print has a story and begins through inspiration and ideas. Nisha looks to nature, life, art, and future trends for concepts. She works with watercolor, acrylic, and ink to dream up pages of motifs she later digitizes for one-of-a-kind seamless repeating patterns. She has a painterly and expressive painting style with clean pen lines and loves working with botanicals, paisleys, boho, and kid’s designs. Her broad but comprehensive design, fabric, and production experience allows Nisha to develop new textile prints for customers that incorporate new trends and innovations.
