Textile Designer: Eleny V Eksterman

Today’s featured designer is Eleny V. Eksterman, a Rio de Janeiro based Surface Designer. I fell in love with the sense of movement and obvious nature inspiration in her work. Beautiful, yes?

After taking a course in textile and tile decoration Eleny started working with architects to create hand- painted tiles. Since that time she has moved into the world of textile design, but keeps the hand-painted feel alive by always sketching her initial concepts. She then uses different techniques, such as painting, paper cut outs, free stitching, photography, and digital media to create her final designs. Eleny loves both her sketchbook and camera and considers them a must have for all designers. I think that is pretty good advice! You can check out more of Eleny’s work here.
