Alizarin is a small, UK-based family company made up of mother and daughter team Heather & Polly Harvey, and focused on producing hand block printed fabrics.
“We produce beautifully designed cushions all created by hand using traditional block printing techniques. Imperfections are celebrated giving each item its own unique character. All designs are hand drawn in our garden studio before being carved into lino and printed onto natural cotton or linen. Digital prints retain a handmade element originating from collage, drawn illustrations or painting.
Heather & Polly formed the studio in order to combine their love of colour, pattern & texture. Inspiration comes in many forms. Nature, architecture and traditional English 19th & 20th century designs are important to us.”
