Gemma Davison is the designer/owner of Anna Joe Design, a contemporary textiles and surface pattern design studio producing “striking graphic prints and designs for both home and fashion, from our small studio in Hartlepool.” Read on to learn more about Gemma and how her business came to be!

“Gemma graduated from Cleveland College of Art and Design in 2009 with a BA (HONS) in Textiles and Surface Design, and soon after exhibited work at New Designers, London where she secured freelance design work through a London based Textiles Design studio, designing fashion prints for high street retailers. This allowed her to exhibit work at some of the world’s best textiles trade shows including Indigo, Premiere Vision and Surtex.

In 2014 Gemma launched her own label Anna Joe Design. Anna Joe Design offers an exclusive range of contemporary fashion accessories and home wares with a traditional twist. The current collection features bright and bold graphic floral prints inspired by the intricate beauty in nature. Each item is made within our small studio in the U.K from the finest materials, to create a piece of art that celebrates both traditional and contemporary design.

Our current silk scarf collection features hand drawn bold graphic floral prints in a fresh modern color palette. This collection has been greatly inspired by the work of the great William Morris and features both repeat floral motifs and graphic floral placement prints. Each scarf has been printed onto beautiful heavy weight silk and hand finished with rolled hems. For more information on our products please visit: www.annajoedesign.co.uk.”
