Designer Feature: The Ornament, Texture, and Light from Sara Mazorra

Sara Mazorra graduated with a Fine Arts degree specializing in painting and illustration, which organically led her to work with textile and pattern design. She is trained in advanced drawing software and professional pattern design; her work bridges artistic sensibility with contemporary surface design. Sara is deeply interested in how design creates atmosphere and emotional experience within spaces. She is drawn to interiors that feel timeless yet contemporary, where ornament, texture, and light work together to create calm and beauty.

Her influences come from historical decorative arts, particularly Rococo and Baroque, reinterpreted through a modern, editorial lens. She finds inspiration in fashion, cinema, art direction, and nature. Her process requires slow, observational moments, such as drawing, walking, and sketching by hand.

Sara has worked with clients in children’s and nursery brands, as well as luxury womenswear. A long-term goal of Sara’s is to obtain international recognition and creative validation, not as an end in itself, but as a means of collaborating with interior designers and studios, contributing to refined atmospheres for hotels, residences, and curated spaces. She is passionate about working closely with architects and designers to develop patterns that bring soul, elegance, and a sense of quiet luxury into contemporary interiors.
