It’s hard to believe it, but Pattern Observer is coming upon it’s fifth anniversary next month! One of the most rewarding aspects of having been involved in this community for so long is seeing once “emerging designers” become professionals with thriving businesses. One of these designers is Laura Olivia, who we first featured in 2013 and have the honor of featuring once again.
The beautiful patterns that you see here are part of Laura’s new interiors collection called ‘Mekong’, which was inspired by the floating flower markets along the Mekong Delta river in Vietnam. For more information on this collection, or to get in touch with Laura, please check out her website: www.lauraolivia.com
We are excited to announce that Laura will be our Textile Design Lab expert for the month of December! Her training will focus on designing for kitchen textiles: “tea towels, aprons, table cloths, oven gloves, including the different weaves used for tea towels and embellishments, working with factories etc.”
